Acupuncture is a technique in which specific points along the body are stimulated either with extremely small (often un-noticeable) needles, or with other methods such as a light electrical pulse or pressure. By stimulating these points, it assists the nervous system in promoting balance and healing within the body. Used for a variety of internal and external conditions, including cosmetic and facial rejuvenation, it can be a great complementary or alternative holistic treatment for your condition. Acupuncture has been in use for 2,500+ years. The aim is to restore the flow of vital energy and promote healing and revitalization in the body. Medical acupuncture uses current knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, with the principles of evidence-based medicine. Dr. Nicole uses a blend of Western and Eastern based philosophies.

Our focus is on gentle, tonal, and specific adjusting using a combination of hands and the Activator instrument. Stimulating the spinal cord at specific levels assists in "rebooting" the signal flow from the brain and the rest of the body, helping you to heal better and faster. Our massage therapist and facial specialist Heather Cavender comes to us with 13+ years of experience. She loves helping others heal their bodies holistically through body work. After working with other estheticians and struggling with adult acne herself, she developed a passion for skin care. After many years of operating her massage practice, she finally decided to make the leap to become an esthetician.

Dr. Nicole Stewart obtained her doctorate from the cutting-edge Logan University, College of Chiropractic, in St. Louis, MO. She is board certified in Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, and Acupuncture currently holding a license as a Florida Chiropractic Physician certified in Acupuncture. She is currently completing her fellowship with the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture and holds a Masters in Nutrition and Human Performance with advanced nutritional, herbal, and homeopathic training.

Prior to being a Chiropractor, Dr. Nicole worked as a Firefighter-Paramedic. After seeing so many conditions over and over again that she felt could have been prevented, she made the move to more preventative and holistic based medicine.

In addition to being an international speaker and Mind-Body Guide, she provides many free resources for patients and other practitioners through Elysian Chiro Collective. Holistic health is caring for the entire person. It is tending to your physical, mental, spiritual, and social needs while being aware of how all of these aspects affect your overall health. We offer a variety of services and in our office so that we can equip you with the right tools that you need for healing

It depends on your insurance and the services rendered. There are a few networks that we participate in, although services such as acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture, and sound therapy are typically not covered. Sometimes extremely high deductibles and co-pays mean passing on a larger amount to our patients. Insurance isn’t designed to cover your care in its entirety, but it can help to offset some costs. We look at all options for you and promise to let you know what all costs are up front, prior to doing anything.

We believe that less is often more. It does not require something aggressive to create a substantial change within the body. In fact, our motto is: Minor Change, Major Impact. This is why we like to keep our adjustments very specific and gentle. We often use a tool called an Activator, as well as other gentle techniques, that allows us to make these changes within the spine without a lot of twisting, turning, popping, cracking, or jarring motions. There are also forms of needless acupuncture available, although most patients report not even feeling the insertion of the acupuncture needles as they are so small.

Chiropractic locates and removes a severe form of spine and nerve stress, a condition that puts pressure on nerves, unbalances your body, lowers your resistance to disease and weakens you: the vertebral subluxation complex.

How do we get these? Stress! It may occur in infancy from a difficult birth or from childhood falls. Later in life, emotional tension or stress can gradually damage your spine or violent injuries from automobile accidents or sports can suddenly knock you “out of whack”.

Definitely! It is quite beneficial for both mother and baby. Chiropractic adjustments are great for those pains throughout the body while carrying another little one inside, but more importantly, it is essential to keep the vertebra in proper alignment for the nerves to functions correctly in order to create a healthy baby. Both acupuncture and chiropractic adjustments throughout the course of pregnancy will help with a shorter and easier labor and delivery. Acupuncture can be a great way to assist with the unpleasant conditions that can accompany pregnancy such as nausea (morning sickness) and difficulty sleeping.

Each patient is different and that is how we like to treat everyone as well. Most patients feel relief in 4-6 visits for acute conditions, while it can take 12-14 for chronic conditions. We often combine treatments such as chiropractic adjustments with acupuncture, to speed up the healing process. However, pain is not the determining factor as many conditions build up over time to finally lead to causing the pain that captures your attention. This is why there is a difference between feeling good and being stable. Our goal is to get our patients to a stable point so that the pain doesn't just keep returning in a few weeks/months.
