Acupuncture

This is one form of Traditional Chinese Medicine in which specific points along the body are stimulated either with an extremely small (often un-noticeable) needle, or with other methods such as a light electrical pulse or pressure. By stimulating these points, it assists the nervous system in promoting balance and healing within the body. Used for a variety of internal and external conditions, including cosmetic and facial rejuvenation (an alternative to Botox/fillers). It can be a great complementary or alternative holistic treatment for your condition.

There is no universal response to acupuncture. Some may experience relief right away and others may require a few visits. A typical session involves an assessment and the insertion of one or more extremely thin, single-use sterile needs. You will either lay face up or face down on the treatment table dependent upon what is being treated. Depending upon the condition and procedure the needles will stay in place anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes. The number of treatments a person will need depends on their individual case. Someone with a chronic condition may require 1 or 2 treatments a week over the course of several months. Someone with an acute health issue will often find lasting results after 5-10 sessions. You can combine your acupuncture sessions with sound therapy for the ultimate healing response. Incorporating sound with your sessions can assist in speeding the healing process, resulting in the need for fewer sessions.

Cosmetic acupuncture, including facial rejuvenation, is a way to address not only unwanted conditions of the skin (such as eczema, psoriasis, uneven skin tone) but also assist in the process of aging gracefully. In facial rejuvenation it's believed that by treating the face you can treat the body, and vice versa. It works internally to not only optimize your health, but also enhance the appearance of your skin. While some needles will also be place on other parts of the body, several tiny and painless needles in and around the face. As the needles are inserted into the skin, they create positive microtraumas. As your body senses these microtraumas, it goes into repair mode. This stimulates your lymphatic and circulatory system, which work together to deliver nutrients and oxygen to your skin cells helping to even out your complexion and produce a glow. It also assists in the production of collagen, improving elasticity, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles. Check out our social media pages for before and after photos!

Chiropractic

Our focus is on gentle, yet specific adjusting, using a combination of hands and the Activator instrument. Stimulating the joints at specific levels of the spine assists in "rebooting" the signal flow from the brain and the rest of the body, helping you to heal better and faster. Our focus in on women's care, prenatal, and pediatric care, although we also see entire families. We are versed in the Zone Technique and certified in Webster with focused studies in pregnancy and pediatric care.

The Activator and Arthrostim tools are an alternative to the twisting, popping, and cracking that many traditional techniques can bring. These devices allows chiropractors to provide a quick, low-force impulse at very specific points. The instrument applies a light impulse that is so quick that the body's muscles are less likely to tense in response to the treatment. The light adjustment is also very localized which doesn't put the joint in any compromised positions.

We combine this tool with the Zone Technique which is a spinal cord stimulation technique for brain healing along with Tonal Chiropractic. To learn more about the philosophy behind why we practice the way we do, click here

Sound Therapy

Typically incorporated in a group setting with acupuncture, it is also available in private settings with or without acupuncture. The sound waves are produced at different frequencies to have a positive impact and influence on your body & brain in order to assist in lowering stress & boosting the healing process. Sessions include use of crystal singing bowls, Tibetan/Himalayan bowls, chimes, tuning forks, gongs, and more. Can be done weekly, or just when you feel you need that extra boost.

Group sessions are done while you are fully clothed and face up, while laying on a yoga mat (chairs are available). If combined with acupuncture, needles are placed in areas that are easily exposed such as the hands, arms, face, and ears. This combination is a great support for those dealing with pain, fatigue, internal disorders, stress, anxiety, depression, and more. A yoga mat, pillow, and light blanket will be provided. You are welcome to bring additional items for comfort. These sessions are recommended for 16 years of age and older.

Sessions can also be done privately. Either with sound alone or incorporating acupuncture. Together, sound can both calm and stimulate helping to ground you as well as up lift your Qi, or energy. These sessions provide a huge amount of healing as it works on both the body as well as the brain. More and more science has been showing the powerful effects of these modalities.

The best way to describe it is via Dr. Malvin Talsky's definition of tonal chiropractic -

Tone is the expression of vibratory frequencies through matter and space. In relation to the spinal cord (the physical extension of the brain), the changes in tension of the spinal cord alters tone.

Because the substance of the spinal cord and brain are the finest, most stretchable physical living matter, it is not able to support itself. It is therefore suspended within the meningeal system (a soft, pliable structure, which protects the brain and spinal cord). The meningeal system is in turn suspended within the moveable bony structure of the vertebral column and cranium.

Movement and changes in postural positioning, alters the tension and tone of the spinal cord and brain. The system is designed to enjoy constant/frequent changes within a wide range of motions and posture. Spinal subluxations are interruptions to that system. The subluxations reduce the ranges of motion and full postural positioning, thus reducing the potential of tonal expression.

Tonal chiropractic is a larger model of evaluating the entire neural-spinal system as a dynamic, global system, and facilitating it to re-initiate the process of self-adjusting and correcting and returning to wholeness.

Because wholeness is healing.

The nervous system has physiology and software programs. The subluxations cause interruptions in the software portions of the nervous system, often putting us into stuck patterns. Tonal chiropractic facilitates a correction in moving you out of that stuck pattern.

Chiropractic is known today mostly for its mechanistic model. The "bone out of place" philosophy. However, chiropractic as a whole is much more than just moving bones. It's about freeing up your nervous system. Traditional techniques are not bad. They can help you feel good by releasing tension and stimulating a rest and relaxation (parasympathetic nervous system) response. But to truly have a progressive reduction of nerve interference and wholeness caused by subluxation, we need to address tone
